I tend to agree, emmie - this ain't serious ceramics. It's now showbiz especially with this Johnny Bozo character who has come on.
I'm quite surprised at how much I've enjoyed this series - I did pottery and loved it but couldn't have done half what they have managed.

yes, I agree, mamya, it's my great bete noire as I would have loved to done more but always stymied.....however, this is ultra-silly for a semi final.

I have loved painting ceramics - that is a fascinating area as the colours aren't natural in the raw and then to see the final results coming out of the oven.....

I'd never seen this before tonight. I've just seen the bit where they were making 5 teapots in 5 minutes, and of course they turned out quite terrible. Then the loo. Why?
I agree it's a load of rubbish, trying to follow on from programmes about people making cakes, painting, sewing, weaving or whatever. What's the next idea going to be?
They made sinks last year.
Since when have toilets been made by hand, by potters.They have been moulded in various ways for over a hundred years now.Just a waste of time,money and viewers patience.They seem to have run out of ideas.
I'm an avid viewer. I want to be privy to the potters' art.
I'm hoping to get ideas to make a mint on.
Possibly it was a test to see if they can produce a working piece.
If you don't know how a toilet works,then it's a test of ingenuity. Ceramics aren't solely cups and saucers.
But they're trying to be potters, not plumbers.
