I did indeed receive a message from google to say that I had 28% of my phone system infected due to recent views and that unless I removed these virus there is a chance of loosing all data etc - so obviously worried !!
You almost certainly received a fake message purporting to come from Google. I have had iPhones and iPads for years with no anti virus software and no viruses
Many thanks
Understand about downloading Apple apps being protected, but what about other internet content available via google etc, which can ell be infected, doesn't this need ' scanning' as on a desktop / laptop now and again??
Windows computers have the dreaded 'registry', which links all of a PC's programs together. So if something nasty can get in via one dodgy program it can infect the entire machine.
iPhones (and, indeed, Android phones) don't have a registry and they 'sand box' their apps, so that they operate entirely independently of each other. That makes them vastly more secure than Windows PCs.
