First, Scotland was blessed with Salmon(d), who was succeeded by that haggis battle-axe, Sturgeon. Although not bad at rugby, running of Scotland by politicians such as this fishy pair is not for the good of this part of the UK.
London have only exacerbated the situation by giving Scotland too much free reign. Now, it's gone to their heads: some of the SNP have mutated into a power-crazy species, having little concern for the future of the country they were voted to represent.
Central government need to adopt a far more robust attitude -- albeit belatedly -- and work for the Union as a whole concept.

They are only doing what they think is best for Scotland. Not everyone agrees with them and not everyone disagrees.
The SNP was voted to represent a devoved Scotland IN the EU.
Scotland did not vote to leave the EU, or to be told what to do by Theresa May, so I think you have to forgive their anger at being in that aituation.
You may think that after 350 years they might be used to being dominated, but apparently the Scots are a free-willed people.
They had a vote and decided to stay, we all had a vote and Brexit won, time to put their sporans away and get a life.
Such wit! No one has ever made play of the names of the two most recent leaders of the SNP and certainly the word, 'fishy' has at no time been used as a descriptor! Brilliant!
If I remember correctly the reason given for setting up the Scottish parliament was to deter the call for independance!
Oops, independence
//You may think that after 350 years they might be used to being dominated, but apparently the Scots are a free-willed people. //

Some of whom are eager to be dominated by Europe! Some free-willed independence!
Do you have a vote in Scotland G ?
out of the UK frying pan and into the EU fire, seems daft to me.
Let us keep the Union as it is.
I think NS has changed tac a bit and has dropped joining the EU and just wants to be independent.

She will say whatever she thinks she needs to say to get her way.

She's actually trying an Erdogan tactic with this latest move.
Talbot
how so?
Erdogan sends Turkish ministers to Europe to drum up support for his referendum to make himself God. He knew the pro-government rallies wouldn't be allowed ... calls the Dutch Nazi's and the Turks in the Netherlands sympathise and rally round the nic Mr E
(Post went too soon and then I got a phone call)

the nice Mr Erdogan. Job done.

Sturgeon will be hoping for support on the back of the nasty English dominated government refusing permission for a referendum. Drumming up nationalist support was behind her request not because she thought the time was right and she could win, and that's why I think May should have granted permission.

as: No, I cannot vote in Scotland, but have friends living there, none of whom are enthralled by that battle-axe's (political) antics. The general opinion is of her wanting to "develop" her own political(!) profile.
we have had salmond and sturgeon as you say .. now it's time to get a gudgeon to lead them. [good one]
