So suddenly it's the UK's responsibility to protect the rest of Europe from German domination? We did that in 1939 and didn't get many thanks for it.
The rest of Europe has made its bed and must lie in it. It was always obvious that the EU was designed for Germany and the other members were there to pander to their wishes and needs. Most people in the UK realised that some time ago and enough of them had the good sense to vote to extract us from the brown stuff.
The notion that German influence on the EU is in any way moderated by the presence of the UK as a member is fanciful and laughable. The Hezza is losing some of the few marbles he has left.

Part of our problem is seeing ourselves as others see us. We tend to go along with the rubbish and hype in our own press because we've become inured to it. Less so foreigners, who on the whole still tend to respect this country and all it stands for, BRexit or no.
We have more Diplomatic skill and clout than the rest of Europe combined, so when it comes to serious negotiation in a future Europe, nothing will change for us, unless maybe for the better... Germany and the rest meanwhile, will go on taking lessons in statemanship from the UK and France.
