The production company wants less Of Edd showing the mechanics of car repairs because it is too difficult and expensive to film.

That is precisely why I watched the show, not to see Mike Brewer advertising his company and mucking about.

If you are a fan of WD, will you continue to watch it without Edd?

I'll ask OH. He's a fan of the show and is shocked that Edd is leaving. Who will be taking his place, do you know?
That's a bit like taking the antiques out of the antiques road show.
Question Author
Ant Anstead is taking over - no idea who he is
Question Author
I see it a lot as OH is a fan. Edd China is a bit of hero in my eyes, he's the one with the brains - the whole point of the programme is surely having an expert to decide whether the car bought was a bargain and what's needed to repair it. If they're not going to show the mechanical part then it's lost its point.
Question Author
It will just be another US muscle car show without Edd. In a way I'm pleased because I'm sure Edd will be fronting other shows and I won't have to put up with over the top, look at me Mike.
Thanks for the info HC.

I'll carry on with Car SOS - just wish they could get rid of Tim :D
No the only reason I watch is the work Edd does on the cars.
Never heard of Ant Anstead and looking him up on Google I'm now the wiser!

Perhaps Edd and Fuzz could work together - Tim Shaw's comedy antics are anoying!
Edd and Fuzz would be ok working on the same show, but it would be like Barry Bucknell - squared! These days it's essential to have a clown element in everything, because it's what we are used to and expect.
The great bake off is a good example, with a lot of contestants and two experts more than enough to keep us entertained, but our betters deem it essential to ha e two clowns on as well.
I occasionally watch when channel surfing – although some of it is educational in terms of what Edd China gets up to, it is the same story every time.

Mike Brewer buys a car to restore (for what he believes a bargain) – Edd uses his expertise and time to fix up the vehicle, and Mike Brewer sells the car for more than he paid for it (including the parts required for the restoration).

If they added Edd China’s time, even at a minimal £50/hour – Mike has made a massive loss on the enterprise.
I can't see it ( Wheeler Dealers ) being any good at all without Ed, it's the only reason I watched it not to see some over weight cockney car salesman ( Brewer ).
If they added Edd China’s time, even at a minimal £50/hour – Mike has made a massive loss on the enterprise.

To right, Hymie.
In real terms for what Brewer flogs the cars for would be at a loss every time.
Question Author
I agree with you, Hymie, and of course the buying and selling is all set up for Mike to present.
I used to fast forward through Mike's nonsense but still enjoyed the show
thats another programme i won't be watching at least edd can talk properly. edd could make the show on his own!
I have no particular interest in cars, but I stumbled across this programme about a year ago, and started watching solely because I was struck by Edd's skill with the restorations, and that he comes across so well: totally genuine, and not intent on making himself a 'personality'. Definitely shan't be watching if he's not involved.
