I am in dispute with someone on Facebook who posted a video of FGM being carried out. I told this person that it's bad enough that it goes on but please don't glorify it by showing it. I was castigated and told to "Wake up" by another FBer. We are all aware that this practice goes on ( it was even inthe London news tonight) but let's not glorify it. Sorry if this doesn't answer your question, but yes, I believe that circumcision (unless for medical reasons) should be stopped.

I agree that there is no comparison. FGM usually involves excision of the entire clitoral organ, to ensure that females feel neither desire nor pleasure. The operation often also includes stitching together of labia to "ensure sexual purity". The male circumcision operation does not involve removal of the entire organ, merely a loose piece of skin. However, in the absence of medical necessity, male children should not be mutilated in this way, any more than female children should.
