For no apparent reason my iPad has stopped using my user name and pass word on all the sites that need it. Any help would be appreciated but please not in too technical words.

you must have cleared your cookies ? perhaps someone knows if they are recoverable on ipad...don't have one....but usually need input all over again on windows !

The only thing I did was to turn off my iPad yesterday for another reason, but I've logged into most of the sites I use and have to log in every time.....here for example. I've tried to do what the web site you gave me suggested but was unsuccessful. I'll give it another go tomorrow morning . Thanks for your help.

Make sure it's set to remember them..

Allow Mobile Safari To Store Passwords For All Sites [iOS Tips] Tap into your Settings app and then swipe down to Safari. Tap there and then tap on Passwords & AutoFill. Once there, swipe your way down a bit until you see the section with Names and Passwords, Saved Passwords, and Always Allow.14 Jan 2014

If the bar right at the top of your screen is black instead of grey, you may have accidentally turned on the privacy setting.

On the main screen of your iPad, bottom left hand corner, is the word private in blue? Just tap that and the black top bit should disappear, and you'll be ok.

Go to settings>safari>passwords this will list all your passwords for sites that you have set. If you have done a reset or turned you iPad off you will need to add each one again.
