Losing A 'best Answer'?

It happens if the OP changes his/her mind and gives it to someone else.

Not sure about the former but the latter would make sense. I'm not sure how often the data is updated but best answers do change.
I find them odd- some best answers in Crosswords are for wrong answers or for someone who answered after someone had already answered and parsed it fully

I mysteriously lost 2 for about 8 hours last week Zac. Then they just as mysteriously came back. Could be AB counter up the creek.

i gave a best answer to someone but it got zapped, which i thought wasn't right, supposedly too rude for the site..

I thought the point of best answer was if a person googled something and they were link to ab, the best answer gave them an idea they had they found what they were looking for, not used as as a bonus on the contributors to Ab, only recently I gave the correct answer and the best answer went to a regular contributor even though he was incorrect, didn't bother me, but someone else doing that crossword will go with the wrong answer in future, I also don't think there should be best answers in cb as it's just chat, maybe one of those emoji things would be better as it's general chat and everyone has differing opinions so BA should not apply on some topics

I don't think best answer should be allowed in Q and P section as some other smart cookie will come up with the exact same answer but not awarded it because they're not chums with the OP.

I don't have many BA's but do appreciate when awarded, I didn't know however that they could be taken away :-/ now that's really scary.
