USA entry requirements

i want to possibly move permanently to the states in the near future. i was wondering what are the requirements for a UK citizen to move permanently to the US? and who would i need to contact to enquire more about it?

ive heard of the green card aswell but apparently they dont allow applicants from the UK.

any help will be appreciated

Forgot to mention - no, UK citizens are not allowed to enter the green card lottery.
