Another child in intensive care because of a dog attack. This seems to be a regular occurance.
is it time to bring in laws to protect innocent children from being killed by someones pet dog?
Something must be done. they ( the breeders ) bred the aggressiveness out of Alsatians some years ago, so time to to do the same to other potentially nasty breeds, and meanwhile pass a law that ALL dogs of certain breeds must be muzzled.

You're right, Chanel.

It's rude to put someone out like that.
no, no need to punish every dog and dog owner for a few idiots. Most all of these incidents are caused by owners believing their dog to be good around children etc or some dopey relative leaving the dog around a young child. Start jailing those eejits and get education out there. NO DOG IS EVER 100% SAFE, capiesch? I have 2 jack russells, I know the problem, we let them nowhere near children (...and some adults for that matter!)
I've said this many times, but it gets knocked down by the "goody Goodies"
We had a guard dog growing up. We didn't even own a lead.
You must admit Ummmm, it seem to be happening very often nowadays, this has to be addressed one way or another, by the way thank you????
My dad had a staff....inherited from my brother, I wouldn't take my kids round unless he locked her away. Not worth the risk.

Our guard dog was a highly trained mongrel...not a pet as such, except we took her everywhere with us.

It comes down to the training, imo.
"We had a guard dog growing up. We didn't even own a lead" - yep that's the kind of arrogant stupidity I'm talking about. Any dog can turn, end of.
No, I definitely don't think all dogs should be muzzled, but some should, especially the big powerful breeds often owned by yobs who like them to be vicious and cause mayhem. My dog is only small and she's been attacked by a large American bulldog which has attacked another dog in my area and the owner just shrugs and says 'it gets out'! I am trying to find out exactly where it lives so I can report it to the police. I am now terrified of large breeds and try to avoid them at all costs because of such stupid owners. Luckily my little dog was not hurt as me and its owner acted quickly, BUT it damaged another dogs head who had to have veterinary treatment.
And I don't agree that all dogs should be kept on leads at all times, my young dog loves to run and play and she needs to be let of her lead to let off steam !
