So I decided that I was going to be abit more healthy at work, as everyone is always eating cakes and biscuits etc, so I popped down the charity shop and bough a nice granny-ish cut glass fruit bowl. 1. Bargain. I even filled it with fruit, and i've been having 3 pieces a day, everything from mangos to bananas.

The problem is that over the last few days I haven't exactly been, well, firm and bound together in the toilet department, and I'm attributing this to the fruit. Will my body get used to this, or will I keep having to go to the toliet when i think no-one in the office is around to hear and smell?
This never used to happen with biscuits...

Supernick, things WILL settle down in the fullness of time. Your innards are probably thinking 'Whoa! What's all this, then?', especially as you're normally a biscuit muncher. I'd suggest keeping on with the bananas (slightly 'binding'), then add in grated apples (very good South African remedy for the squits) for a few days. Leave off the mangoes etc until you've adjusted. You might also find really washing the fruit helps, and buying organic. Less chemicals and stuff to upset your delicate little balance!
Oh i'm sorry but that made me smile.

Yes, things will definitely settle down. I would stick to 'bland' fruit such as bananas, apples and pears for a while. And then move on to the more twangy fruits once things have 'settled'.

How about cutting it down to 2 a day and build up?

Cheers Kim A and fee-is-me. I might lay off the more acidic ones for a little bit. Guess I shouldn't have polished oof another tangerine 5 minutes ago though....It's going to repeat on me.
I'm not going to dump the fruit though (pun intended). I'm getting more satisfaction out of my new found healthy smugness and granny bowl envy than I ever was out Cadbury's Snacks.
I was about to call you a 'narna'... but i shall resist.
Fruit is good for you but it sounds like you are overdoing it! You can also have a few nuts or dried fruit; oat cakes are a healthy snack, as are crudities and dip!
Am sure things will settle down. Your guts are probably in a mild state of shock at the moment at a change in diet. It will probably help "firm things up" if you can eat plenty of fibre in your diet. If you eat some muesli or bran flakes for breakfast and mix in your bananas or other fruit your early morning diet will be a little more balanced and hopefully you will suffer less effects during the rest of the day. Too much salad without fibre will have the same effect. If you really feel unsatisfied without the biscuits, keep a box of muesli or wholegrain cereal in the office and have a little of that instead of a biscuit.
