I'd say 4 cups a day is definitely not too many. Have a look at the info here: https://www.caffeineinformer.com/caffeinated-coffee-the-anti-cancer-wonder-drug
On average, if it's a work day seven cups of coffee, if it's not then usually about ten. I can wake in the middle of the night and drink a coffee, an no, it doesn't keep me awake.
Four cups Wimp! Seriously though its each to there own, I drink about eight cups of coffee on an average day but also drink plenty of (Tap) water throughout the day... I'm sure that dilutes it in my bloodstream... I only ever drink Tea at Mums... a cup every couple of month I can cope with.
A colleague used to zonk out on the sofa every night when he returned from work. After threats from his wife he saw his GP who diagnosed caffeine overdose - he drank coffee all day at work. He went on to decaf and was a new man!
I am the same and drink 4 a day and last one is after dinner at 7pm I dont think 4 a day is excessive and I dont seem to have any ill effects but I have been doing this for years, so I think your consumption is ok imho
2 coffees in the morning, if I drink it after lunch, it impacts on my sleep...won't drink decaf as I used to sell the solvents they extract it with. One cup of tea in the afternoon - both always black and no sugar - I am white and sweet enough already.
Yes, 4 cups of coffee per day is really too much. You need to cut down the number of coffee cup. Take maximum 2-3 cups of coffee and tea in a day. Coffee contains high amount of caffeine. According to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, GPs should ‘discourage excessive consumption of coffee and other caffeine rich products’.
