Sympathy Cards

If you had spoken to someone on the telephone and offered your condolences over a death, would you still send a sympathy card or would you consider that you have had your say?

I lost my brother and his eldest, my nephew, within 12 months of each other and although I had spoken to my sister-in law on both occasions I still followed up with a card.

Thanks. Just found out my Aunty died today. I`m still a bit shocked. I was going to go and see her tomorrow. I`ll go to Sainsburys and get a card.

Yes, you can never be off doing things formally as well as more informally.

if you'd spoken to them in person maybe not; but a phone call plus a card is good practice, I think.

I would send a card too. I still have the ones I received when my Mum died, they gave me great comfort.
