Washing Machine Woes

My old WM died last week. Apparently a bearing in the drum had gone. It has now gone to the great utility room in the sky.
New one arrived, get it installed etc. Switch it on and it's making one helluva racket and moving around. Try everything to level it (adjusting feet etc). Turns out my problem is the floor that it is standing on is not rigid (I kid you not). I have no idea what the floor is made of but it is very spongy and you move up and down as you walk on it.
OK, so floor clearly needs sorting, although I doubt very much my landlord will get round to it this week. Any ideas how I can mitigate the problem until such time as my floor is sorted?

I think that is what killed the old one, OG. It was always moving around and making helluva racket but I put that down to extreme age (it was 14 years old). This new one is meant to be quiet, but when it was on spin, the dishwasher next to it was jumping as well. The floor really is shocking though. There is a reason this is called "Bodgit Cottage".
I might post a picture of the sealant round the bath for your amusement. It looks like it was put on by a two year old with a trowel.................
