But animals have a way of dodging speeding traffic with much more agility than their owners.

The only reason I would jump in front of a speeding lorry is if it was to push one of my children out of the way.

No you don't but I'd probably do the same. My dog would leap out the minute he got the chance so if I do have the windows open it's only about 3" and then I lock them. I forgot to lock them one day and he put his paw on the button that opens the window and was half way out before I could yank him back in. Heart stopping moment. Never happened again.

Very sad.
blimey when my dog tackled a swan
OK the swan took umbrage at my dog
the onlookers clearly thought it was my fault first and the dogs second and swan didnt score
yeah they were hissing at me louder than the swan who wasnt exactly quiet

when i as young and stupid just before the M4 turning to welsh wales I did a double take as two cars had pulled into the liddle liddle shoulder on the fast lane - yup the bit 6" wide on the right hand side as you proceed forward
and were swapping details as one had swiped the other

actually I reflected to myself - you havent signed an insurance form for over a year .... as I hadnt re routed my car insurance and the new house owner where I had moved away from was throwing all my post away.
so it kinda ended well
Oh dear.

I wonder will the sympathy diminish now.
I also would have done the same as the woman, I love my pets so much they are family to me.
I have no idea why folk don't tether their dogs in the car using a harness or put them in a crate when travelling.

Such incidents are so easily avoided with an ounce of common sense.
Not for the dog ummmm.
Daily mail shows no picture of the dog.

She suited her hair blonde, it made her look years younger than when it was dark.
