Hp Deskjet Won't Print!
16 Answers
All-in-one HP Deskjet has suddenly and with no warning whatsoever stopped printing. Changed cartridge - still wouldn't print. Will still scan to computer and goes through motions of printing but I only get blank pages. Have been to "Tools" and tried re-aligning print heads etc. Nothing works so any help would be much appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my HP 1514 a while back, and their helpline was friendly and got it fixed. From memory, the first thing the guy told me to do was switch the printer on, pull the mains lead out, and keep my finger on the 'On' button for 15 seconds. Seemed odd and counter-intuitive (I'd never have thought of it) but on plugging it in again and checking one or two other things, all was fine
I am surprised that the Print & Scan Doctor has been unhelpful. What exactly happened .....Did you get any on screen messages.?
Also it could be of assistance to solve your problem if you were to list the model number of your HP Deskjet; Operating System (Windows 7, 8, or whatever); and if the Computer is connected to the printer by cable or wireless.

It's a Deskjet 3520. It has wireless connection with 2 laptops, one running Windows 7 and the other Windows 10. Same blank paper results from both laptops but it will still scan to both. No error messages have come up.
Could there be a blockage somewhere so the ink can't get from the cartridge to the print-head?

It is probable that the print heads are clogged up; on some HP printers you can remove the ink cartridges and then remove the cradle which contains the print heads then have a look to see if they are clogged up if they are you may as well give it a good wash out. It may take some time afterwards to get the ink flowing again
I have an All in One HP 2540 printer. When this happens, I just turn everything off at the mains for 5 minutes , and it is alright when things are turned back on.
But I think that you might have other trouble if you are not using HP ink cartridges. I have found it is false economy to use refils or not HP cartridges.

I asked if it would photocopy to confirm if it was a printer problem rather than a communication problem with the computers.
