How To Open Ford Focus Door
I have a Ford Focus Titanium (2016) which I am unable to get in to. The car belongs to a recently deceased relative. I have both keys but neither seem to work. I have tried the mini key enclosed in the key fob but this doesn't seem to open the door either. I don't think the car battery is dead as there is a red flashing light I can see on the dashboard display. I cant see how both key fobs would be dead as the car is only 6 months old the spare key fob had never been used. Am I missing something really simple?. any ideas appreciated.

As you say it would be unusual for both key fobs to be down as they have a 2yr battery life. I am thinking possibly the car battery despite the alarm light still being illuminated. I think most modern cars reserve the last of the battery power for the alarm system. I will have a look at what is liable to happen with a flat battery regarding car entry.
Cheers for all comments It is the right key and right car! There is only a lock on the front passenger door, so there is only one place the mini key can go. There is no other key, only the key fob. Guessing that it is a keyless ignition(although i cant see inside very well to check.) If it is a case of a flat battery, how would i gain access to the bonnet (as I believe it is usually opened from inside the car) There is no lock under the oval ford badge on the front (like some other

Working on the assumption it is keyless entry, try walking up to the car with the key in your hand and just pull the door handle. Don't attempt to use the key or fob at all, other than having inyour hand. Somewhere on your person should be sufficient really but, just in case of weak battery, have it as close to the car as possible.
I have a feeling that the Titanium model in the Focus range came with keyless entry as standard.
Do you have AA membership, ( or something similar ) If you do, then call them out. They won't know that the car isn't yours, as membership is personal rather than car-based.
If not, you may have to contact the nearest Ford Dealership.

I have been talking to my nephew about this...he is a manager with the local Ford dealership and a time-served mechanic.
His best guess at the moment is that the battery is flat in the car. Don't be led stray about the red light on the dash...this requires only the smallest smidgen of battery power !
If the car had its dead locked applied and then has been standing around, the battery could have gone flat. Check if you can open the bonnet....some Fords have this facility where you can twist the oval Ford badge, put the key into the lock and open it ....the dead locks don't apply to the bonnet.
If you can, charge the battery up.
Also, there is a small chance that the "pairing" of the keys and the car could have been lost somehow, and the car will need to be re-coded....not a big job for the Dealership to do
If you can't get into the bonnet, then my nephew says its a job for the Ford Dealer. It might cost a bit, not too much, but on a car that is only a few months old, its got to be worth it !
