Well, it all went successfully. I've had my first meal in 36 hours and what a delicious bowl of Weetabix it was. Leaving hospital in a bit.....let the box sets begin
Togo. Will you have dietary restrictions after the op? I can't have meat or bread for 6 weeks. Not sure how I'll cope without bread. At least I'll lose some weight.
Not sure about those details yet Rocky, but I am led to believe that after a bit of initial care a normal diet is possible. At the mo I am treading hot coals and have had no cheese for 6 months. I have always had a very low fat diet so that has not been a hardship, but mushy peas, curry, shortcrust pastry, amongst other things, gives me 5 hours agony and always at night. I am craving cheese constantly like Benn Gunn from Treasure Island. :))
I echo everyone else. Glad your op. is over rocky - do as you are told and I'm sure you'll recover quickly.
Very good luck with yours Togo, thinking of you.
xx to both
I am hoping that Rocky is now home and settled. I am sorry for pinching a little of your thread Rocky, I didn't mean to. When I am called for op I will post my own heads up, but thank you well wisher anyway with Rocky's assent.
Came home yesterday, Togo. I feel a bit uncomfortable and the sensation when I eat is very strange, that and the knowledge of knowing what's coming after, so to speak. Any pain seems to be controlled by paracetamol, so that's good.
To be honest, I underestimated how much the procedure would take out of me, I feel like a little old lady at the moment.
Yeah any op that involves anesthetic takes it out of you, even local anesthetic. Rest and recuperation is all that cures it, and doing it a little at a time without pushing yourself.
