Online Access To Medical Records

I am able to access my medical records and was somewhat surprised that I once had an allergic reaction to a medical device.

I am confident that this not the case as I would have remembered the procedure, it's not something one would forget!

It has got me thinking though that there may be others who have had the wrong notes scanned and attributed to them. In some cases the consequences could be pretty serious.

Has anyone had this experience?

from time to time; nothing serious. I'm not talking about online notes, just, I imagine, doctors misreading other doctors' handwriting.
My doctor is incapable of reading his own writing

I don't know if I have access to my records -
I was rushed to hospital by ambulance some years ago - a suspected heart attack. I wasn't having a heart attack but I did have a collapsed lung. Neither the hospital nor my GP have any record of it.

I will raise my misdiagnosis when I next see GP. I fully accept that human error is the most likely cause but do wonder what preventative measures are put in place.

That's worrying HC, a complete medical history is kind of useful should you not be able to inform the medics!
They are so adamant that it didn't happen that I would question my sanity had my wife not called the ambulance and accompanied me to hospital. :(
Can anyone have access to their records - online or otherwise ?

Probably differs from practice to practice, Baz. Mine have had online facilities for a couple of years or more, just recently have I been able to view my record on line.

Good you had Mrs HC to verify your account HC, still a bit worrying though.
Bazile, you have a legal right to look at your medical records.
