Disappering Things

Why do things suddenly vanish?
Over the past week several things have just vanished
1) My bike lights. I ALWAYS keep my bike lightS on top of my intercom. I only use them (rarely) if using my bike at night. Last week I decided to do a bit of maintenance on my bike and went to charge up my lights while I was at it. Nowhere to be seen. Searched draws, cupboards, everywhere. Gone
2) Stamps. A few days ago I purchased a book of stamps. I used one when I got home and put them back in my wallet. An hour or so later my son asked for one. Got my wallet out and they weren't there. Had to buy some more.
3) Money. This morning my son gave me £12 to purchase something for him. I put the 2 pound coins in my pocket and a tenner in my wallet next to my own 2 £20 notes. Got to the shop and no tenner, just my 2 £20 notes. My wallet has a clip around the notes to stop them from falling out and I remember clipping the note in.
Theres been a few other little things disappear as well, Its driving me mad. It seems I'm not alone, judging by the comments beneath this article

You didn't stop somewhere else where you might have used it? I've done that myself. Stopped off to get petrol and can't understand what I've spent it on 'cos I'd forgotten and there's nothing to show for it.
Barsel, I had no other coins in my pocket (all my loose change goes into my 'shrapnel' jar) I clipped his note into my wallet (and noticed that I had two £20 notes in there. I went straight to the shop, opened my wallet and there were my notes but not his. Got back home and looked on the table (where I picked it up from), under the table and everywhere else. Just...GONE!
