Can My Parents Put Charges Against My Boyfriend Without My Permission?
29 Answers
My boyfriend is 18 and I am 16. We have been together for 10 months. My parents have not actually sat down and met him because they do not like him. They are continuously making false assumptions up about him. He has not been any harm to my family or me. He actually has sort of stuck to himself because he even said he does not want to get too far into the relationship because my parents are crazy to the point where they would lie to a police officer. Please help me.

Yes he came over one time when a couple of my friends were over and they found out about that but they were not that mad but now it is like they are holding it against me and him. Im really confused about this whole situation but thank you!
As long as you don't have a swell time, it'll be fine. I reckon your parents are just mad at you because they see something about him they don't like, and they hadn't given explicit permission for him to be there, especially when they were not there to object. You might like to consider their perspective when inviting folk to their house in future. It's better to be on good terms with one's parents.
Recall that he is 18 and has passed a significant birthday when it comes to judging how mature/adult someone is, you are 16 and still at an age when parents feel a desperate need to protect their offspring. I'm not overly surprised they were not keen on you two being together without them nearby to ensure you are ok.
