Pensions-Triple-Lock-Yes-Or-No Mrs May ?
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/av /uk-pol itics-3 9723837 /snp-pe nsions- triple- lock-ye s-or-no
Mrs May was given plenty of opportunity to say if she would guarantee that the triple lock on State Pensions would continue, but she refused to say yes or no !
Surely, with this Election, which she has called, so close, she would know if this guarantee is to continue or not........a simple question, that needed a simple answer, not the lot of waffle that we saw today !

Appros nothing to do with this thread: in order to post this I have been sent back to 'this site is not responding - go to your home page and reload' and quite frankly I am fed up with the current difficulties of posting on here. I could not respond to posts referring to one of mine the other evening and people must think I don't care/won't respond. Definitely cheesed off Ed. :(

The manifesto has not been released and is still in discussion so why would Mrs May stand up and say something?
One method of testing public reaction is to 'release' an idea and see where it goes and base your plan on that. Of course this leads to people like Mickey grasping at straws and calling decision U-turns etc.
Anyway I would hope it is not just one person writing a manifesto!

Mikey, all those 20pences add up. That's how your 20p can become billions if not kept in check. So the amount isn't trifling but huge.
Basic economics that the Labour Party seem to be out of touch with. Oh sorry forgot they are going to get Wonga loans to pay for it and do a runner when we go bankrupt.

I'd not say it was a very generous arrangement. It was introduced after years of it falling behind. Even the more controversial bit, the 2.5%, is there so that on rare occasions the pension can rise in real value a little without the government having to announce a specific increase. Worth noting that the UK pension is not a world leader and any boost it gets must be a welcomed improvement. http:// home.bt .com/li festyle /money/ investi ng-pens ions/uk -state- pension -one-of -the-wo rlds-lo west-sa ys-oecd -113640 2552335 0
The triple lock was introduced by the Tories, not Labour !
Mrs May is now considering, apparently, of substituting the triple lock for a double lock ::::
