Tvremote Control

My Bush RC has gone on the blink,started out not controlling my volume
now will not turn on the tv, I can only see about 3 components ie:-
IC. A704684 IFE, HB8101Pk C1.47uf 10v. IR1
Anyone have any idea how to repair please.

I assume you've done the obvious - change the battery.

If you have a digital camera, point the remote at it and press a button; you should be able to see the lamp on the front of the remote flashing on the camea screen. All the buttons should cause flashing; if some don't you may have dirt under the faulty ones.

Sorry vignon, I wouldn't have a clue about that. Perhaps someone more into electronics than me will see your post.

As a stop-gap and as a backup, nip to Poundland and get one of their universal remotes. They come with a list of codes - there may be a few for Bush - you might need to try more than one.

Alternatively if you have Sky, you can use that remote to control most tvs.

The answer, cleaned the bottom of the TV screen all along with glass cleaner because I did not know where the IR receive was located. Problem solved, thanks to those who tried to help me.
