Yay - (Mental) Happy Dance Time

We have to move out (our landlord is 90 and wants to sell - can't blame him) and I've managed to get us a house in the village. I've been so worried :(
Just got to get packed and ready to shift for the 17 of the month - should get a decent night's sleep tonight.

It is good that you have a place in the village. A sense of community is very important.

Unfortunately we aren't in a position to buy (but I wouldn't buy this house - it's v dark with a tiny garden but it's done us well for nearly 7 years). We were going to move into the house on 24 April but then the current tenants said they weren't leaving (luckily for us they have turned out to be flaky) I had secured a different house but it was on the outskirts of the town and whilst I would have been grateful the kids would have been isolated from their friends and I was worried about turning into a hermit.

Great news Sherr. I remember you moving into the house you are in. Doesn't seem like 7 years ago! Good luck with the move xx

It'll be fine - it's only 15 doors away and we have this house until the end of the month so we can move slowly over the course of two weeks. It has made me realise how isolated (sad) I am that the school run is the highlight of my social life.

We were only supposed to move in for three months and I didn't realise our landlord was so old and he lives some way away. The 17 is ages away - I've already sorted the kids' Lego (my big obsession at the moment) so everything's good :)
