It's parsing for me, I'm afraid.
3D I'm ten and likE ELephants to some extent (3). Why should EEL belong to 'I'm ten'?
10A Evasive son gets slap round mouth, Queen involved? (8) SLIPPERY = evasive, son = s, Queen = er. I just can't see how 'slap' fits in.
23D Worry that daughter's wearing a red outfit (5). Is a CADRE a red outfit?
Thanks in anticipation.

Quick! I've just solved 10A! Thought that mouth = lip. Didn't reLise 'slap round mouth' = lippy! Sorry everyone!
3D might relate to Qn 10?
3d I'm ten (SLIPPERY) therefore EEL is correct
23 I can see CADRE (organisation/outfit) and worry = CARE with D(aughter) inside but can't fathom the red bit
10 across Merci.
cadre=(especially in Communist countries) a cell of trained and devoted workers.
Red= Communist Capito
Thank you elliemay - that explains 'red outfit'
.... and Togo. :))

Slippery eel! Well done, elliemay1! That was devious!
Question Author
Thank you, elliemay1. I'd have thought 'cadre' was sufficient for 'outfit' but I can see why 'red' was included. Phew. See you all next week! :-)
Thank you Mercedita
I thought his might be 'dread'. The way I parse it is: worry is the definition arrived at by D(daughter) followed by an anagram of 'a red'. The anagram indicator being the word 'outfit'

Ingenious, Kitabu! You should have been correct with Dread instead of Cadre! Never mind. Just thank Answerbank!
