It''s not first past the post voting in the Scots council elections so it doesn't follow that the Tory success will be repeated at the General Election.
TTT....from your link :::

"The SNP has finished as comfortably the biggest party in the Scottish council elections despite the Conservatives making big gains"
Scotland isn't suddenly going to turn blue or red. It may bet a bit blotchy but the other parties do need a lot more votes to topple the SNP so where they gained better than the SNP would have hoped they need to make much larger gains to really make a difference in the general.

I don't know they can do that in Scotland when you have NS shouting loudly.

fair enough but I think we can add to our seat in Scotland, not sure Labour or the limp dums can say the same.
not a true reflection on general election..as folk will vote tactictally to keep Dear Nicola at bay ! unlike local elections where what is going on on your doorstep matters
Con Seats:276 Change in seats:+164
Lab Seats:262 Change in seats:−133
Lib Dem Seats:67 Change in seats:−3
SNP Seats:431 Change in seats:−7
Green Seats:19 Change in seats:+5
Other Seats:172 Change in seats:−26

If you are anti Tory you can spin it how you like, but looks like the Tories have done very well and SNP did loose 7.
think those margins ^^^ will widen on June 8th as tactics are employed
I dont mind where the votes go so long as this referendum stuff is put to bed one way or another. At the moment the SNP are doing their hardest to destroy the UK (including Scotland) with uncertainty for the future.

Either Scotland goes, sharpish, or they stay united with all of us and shut up.

We need to pull together at this time not bicker, but if the Scottish really want to go then they must vote in the SNP with a resounding victory and then just go. We can then all get on building our futures.

Scotland doesn't want to go..Nicola and her bravehearters do...and an SNP vote does not equate to a yes to independence...however, I predict lots more Tory votes to strengthen the NO come June 8th...
so the tories did quite well, lets hope that translates across the board at the GE.
Scottish labour missed a trick - if they'd got their resident mathemagician diane abbott to count the votes, labour would have swept to power practically everywhere.....
LOL @ mush!!!
2012 SNP won 425
2017 SNP won 431 = +6
Not going to get into a great debate about the SNPs but they did take Glasgow which has been a Labour stronghold for three decades. They also hold Dundee, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
