Not Sure About His But Here Goes.

Over the years my teeth have rotted away to the extent that I only have two left, the rest being stumps. These stumps cause me no discomfort but are unsightly when I open my mouth. My query is, as I am reluctant to undergo the trauma of having everything removed, is it possible to get prostheses which would surround what remains?

Sod's Law says I broke a canine tooth last week, and have had to find a dentist. I am not looking forward to my visit on Thursday (going on holiday to Scotland on Sat. - no wifi, don't expect replies). I don't know what will be offered. Same tooth was rebuilt 10 years ago, but there is only the tiniest rim now. :( If I have time I will let you know suggestions. They are all likely to be a) expensive b)expensive and c) uncomfortable and time-consuming(to say the least). Stiff upper lip, eh!
Jack, I saw your post when first it came up and thought " why the feck is he even not thinking DENTIST".? Just go there. The advice will give you options and why would you not give yourself an opportunity to be happy with yourself. Make the appointment Jackdaw.

After several horrific childhood experiences I was dentist phobic! It was only when I got an abscess 2 years ago and was in such agony I had no choice but to find a dentist. Even then I burst into tears like a big girls blouse. I was lucky in that I found an amazing man and now I can walk in without batting an eyelid and have anything done. Find a good dentist and it will be the best thing you could do xx

Totally agree Smow - same happened with me, scared witless for years but have now got a lovely German dentist who fully understands my fear of choking after I explained I nearly choked on a piece of meat 10 years ago. I actually enjoy going now .....
