Problem With Outlook
6 Answers
These past few days I've not been able to see my emails on Outlook. I get the message 504 Gateway Time-Out. The server didn't respond in time. This is using Chrome. It doesn't say what to do about it. Can anyone help please?

Read this Barsel from where it says "How To Fix 504 Gateway Timeout Error". I have posted the link as it is easier than typing it all up. https:// www. lifewire. com/ 504- gateway- timeout- error- explained- 2622941

Have you tried opening Edge Barsel?
Your browser goes through the following cycle when it communicates with the Web server:
Obtain an IP address from the IP name of the site (the site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs).
Open an IP socket connection to that IP address.
Write an HTTP data stream through that socket.
Receive an HTTP data stream back from the Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information.
This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '504'.

Kay Barsel. You may note that it could of course be a Chrome problem, and you could contact them for help. The link, I think, tells you what info you need to give them IP address etc. Must admit that I have always been happy with Outlook(Hotmail) although some seem to loathe it. I am also happy with the Edge browser and Defender.
