How important are originals
4 Answers
I have discovered that the original insurance policy documents are missing after having been put into storage but I have photocopies. The premium has been paid faithfully but what would happen in the event of a claim ? I am one of those who mistrust insurance companies because I have good reason to expect they will try to get away from their responsibilities on any pretext (morals not being a burden they carry).

However, to reassure yourself you should write to your insurance company, explain the circumstances of the loss of documents and ask for a certified copy. They may charge an administration cost for doing this.
