But this new announcement by the Tories is at odds with what Mrs May and her Ministers have been saying for days.

strong and stable, mikey! Stable as in "change my mind every few days". It's like the budget all over again.

SHOULD !
OG. If you think that youngsters today can support the aged by paying the same proportion of their wage to taxation as we did in times gone by, I certainly don't think sums are your strong point.
We all paid in what was needed of us, and if insufficient wealth is presently being made to ensure exactly the same demand as at another time in the past then all the more reason to pay attention to the economy; which inevitably rises and falls over time. Especially if too many are out of work and on welfare because there are too many folk. Your decision to ignore that and make insults about my maths instead isn't going to change anything except give you a warm feeling. Citizens simply need to cover today's bills knowing there are ups and downs and better times ahead; not try to opt out of having an equitable society by dumping of those who already contributed what was needed at the time.
ON THOSE
So you are now agreeing that they would have to pay more, OG, but you are saying that is needed of them, is that correct?
As I have said before, sell your house and spend the proceeds then you can join all the lifelong benefit claimants who will get free care.
