I can't understand how she managed to get even £50k in the first place.

Even if she is on benefits what right does the court have to demand she be paid money to buy her a house and still keep her benefits from someone just because they are dead?

They had been estranged for more years than they weren't and the mother had specifically said she was to get nothing??

I would rather squander it all in the casino than think even one penny goes to someone I don't want to get it.

If it's of any comfort, after 10 years of court cases and legal fees she won't have any of the £50,000 that she did keep from the will left!
Folly of the law if the dter does not benefit & relieve tax payers of maintaining her family. Hope the charities had to pay her exes - theyre the greedy bekkers
A Will should be binding far as I'm concerned.
The Will should be binding. An appeal to get a Will altered should only be applicable if somebody who was financially dependent on the testator at the time of death is excluded from the Will.
A will should be binding. The mother's money - her decision.
It looks like some good will come of this, it says that from now on people will have to give far more detail and explain the reasons for a contentious will such as this.

But why should they have to give more detail.

Although I don't know the details she did inform her daughter she would get nothing. She even wrote an extra bit in the will explaining why.
I'd squander it too at the casino to make sure the wrong people don't get it. Several games on slots, poker etc!
