I hadn't heard of this disaster before. I was about four at the time that it happened.

It took the lives of 72 people but looking at the pictures it could have been so much worse.

I know of it wolf having lived in the Stockport area for 40 years. The memorial stone is still in its original place and has never been built on. I've been to see it a few times.

I remember it too, my cousin should have been on the flight but had cancelled her holiday due to her Mum being hospitalised.
