My husband has come up with the obscure question, what is a collector of penknives called - perhaps something ending in 'ology' ????? Does anyone have the answer

More likely an "ist" than an "ology". Ologies are studies of, as in biology (study of life),zoology, study of animals. NumismatISTS collect coins, philatelISTS collect stamps etc.
Beyond that I haven't a clue.
