He's older than daughter and partner - they're only in 20's. Hospital have kept him in after getting results and starting 10 days of chemo straight away. They've said he has 50/50 chance of lasting six months : (
Where does the patient live? We have Branches of Bloodwise, previously known as Leukaemia&Lymphoma research. We are there to support and raise funds for research. Bloodwise is on FB and support is there. Treatment has improved in the last fifty years so much. We hope
that he will soon show improvement when he starts treatment. Please tell him that we are thinking of him and send our love.

I see there`s a Thetford Branch. Any further help gladly given.
Thanks everyone. I'm not even sure yet what made him go to the doctors/ hospital - I saw him about a month ago and he was absolutely fine. Fingers crossed he's young and strong.....
Just spoke to daughter again. Apparently he'd been feeling poorly for a while but not said anything. Eventually went to doctor yesterday morning and had bloods taken. Was called a few hours later and told o go straight to hospital whenever they said he has rapid progressive acute myeloid leukemia and if he hadn't gone for the blood tests he would have had only two weeks to live. Would it really kill you that quickly??
Sadly it could, and the treatment is nasty too. But people do survive for extended periods and there is lots they can do to ease the side effects. Support his family so they can support him is my best advice.
