Have to do a finger buffet for my daughters evening wedding reception, anyone have any ideas that are a bit different from the usual stuff? Savoury only, Thanks H.
sausage rolls ,smoked salmon, quiche, all very usual but good fillers, cream phili with prawns on toasties ,asparagus wrapped in palma ham,and of course fresh bread and cheeses, hard boiled eggs yolks taken out mixed with mayo and black pepper and replaced in the whites,a bit of salad stuff on the side i cant think straight at this time of night, tomatoes stuffed with tuna and thousandisland good luck
My friend had all that, and a delivery from the local chip shop of loads of bags of chips (put on to platters of course) absolutely everyone (after all the afternoon alcohol dived in) it was a treat, and all the guests said what a good idea it was. No one mentioned "fancy having chips at your wedding" they were commended for it.
We organised a charity evening and rather than mess about with food and wondering how much to make, we got the local chippy to deliver a fish and chip supper for everyone. We put sachets of salt and pepper on the tables and had vinegar available and then all that was required was to take bin bags and when they had all finished eating, put all the papers and trays in. No washing up and it was a huge success. The chippy also did a bit of a discount for bulk ordering
Thanks everyone especially bill, as nice as the chips idea is, I think I will stick with the finger buffet tradition. The cream phili and prawns and asparagus wrapped in plama ham and stuffed tomatoes, were just the sort of inspiration I was looking for. Cheers. H.
