I think you have misunderstood my headline, I was questioning "That's the way to do it" note the question mark.

I was questioning the Police's actions, arresting a man for burning a book while they had released a man onto the streets, who later carried out a terrorist attack.

aog, They arrested the men who burnt the book on suspicion of racial hatred, which is a crime. I can only imagine they, under current laws, had no legal reason to detain the other man for longer than they did.

Some activities defuse a situation whilst others exasperate it. Whilst it ought not be a crime to burn one's book, it ought to be one to attempt to cause civil unrest. It's just common sense it had to be dealt with or there would be more trying to inflame things.

As for the bail issue, that was for a different criminal activity. People do get bailed when there has been no sound reason offered to deny it.

I don't see the point of trying to tie the two news items together.
