Congrats to Labour and JC a superb unexpected performance. Our own campaign was risible and duly punished by the electorate. I think Mrs May will have to go and we could end up with another election pretty soon. She can do a deal with the DUP but in reality it's a lame duck government. Where do we go from here?

Zacs....everybody, including me, underestimated Corbyn's ability to get the message across. Brickbats were thrown at him from all directions, including from AB.

And yet, Labour still did well.

Yes, of course....part of that was due to Mays nastiness, and incompetence, but perhaps the British people looked at the Labour parties policies and thought that they looked pretty reasonable after all.

Nah, the youth vote did it. They didn't want Brexit and they saw a vote for Jezza as a way to protest.

In my town it's always been soooo close between Tories and Labour- despite thousands and thousands of voters , in 2015 Tories won by just 156 votes. Lastnight Labour won by over 5000 votes! Sadly May showed she could talk the talk but she can't walk the walk.

As to your question... hard to see how anti-Corbyn Labour members have much choice. He's defied all expectations and then some. Still well short of a winning post but I don't think Labour winning was ever on the cards this time out. He's done the next best thing: picking up a huge section of the popular vote and giving voters a genuine alternative to the Tories.

She has to go though. For me Davis or Rees Mogg. Boris could do the job well but he does carry too much baggage.

of course they won't: either you are naive of being deliberately obtuse asking it ; 'they' may 'stop whining' but that may make them even more insidious - the sad norm in politics, and not politics alone.

The very last seat to be decided though looks like it may be Kensington going to Labour. Blair never managed that. Has Corbyn's Labour now actually unintentionally gone upmarket? After all, they also gained Canterbury but lost Mansfield.
Actually one reason Labour did quite well was that the so-called 'Blairites' grinned and bore it and campaigned quietly for Labour.

No, Labour plainly is not going to split. Why would they do that? It was only a possibility if Labour nose dived and Corbyn refused to walk. He may still be there but more importantly Labour got 260+ seats and 40% of the vote. So it's a different situation.
