Talktalk Data Leak - Scam Calls

I'm with Talktalk and it seems every time I call the Talktalk contact centre, a day or two later I get scam calls telling me I have a computer/broadband fault.
I know Talktalk had thousands of customer numbers/data stolen in 2015 but it's hard to believe this data is being used now.
I believe Talktalk have a leak in their contact centre, maybe staff selling numbers out.
Does anyone else have this problem and what are your thoughts?

Computeractive magazine no 498 had an article about this very subject....and, yes, still happening in exactly the way you say. All to do with outsourcing it's customer helplines to India, apparently.

Thank you Gingejbee, spot on article, exactly my suspicions.
From time to time we also get the sort of calls you describe but I don't think there is a direct correlation in our case.
it could be coincidence, my elderly mother regularly gets scam calls from 'talktalk' about her non-existent computer

The article I mentioned was specifically covering the same scenario as IggleP mentioned....calls supposedly from Talktalk just a few days after customers had contacted customer services.
Can't find a link to the Computeractive article....but here's a similar one from a few months ago...

I've now dropped Talktalk after a small argument, we are changing our telephone number and have reported the whole incident to the Information Commissioners Office. I doubt anything will be done or can be done due to the call centre being based in India...
Was plagued with calls apparently from Talktalk a few months ago. I seemed to have a permanent fault with my router? Always took a note of their number (if available) and reported to Talktalk on line. Thankfully these calls have now stopped. Latest calls are from Santander - same old, same old.
if you have caller read out it showing their number etc, it usually begins with 001 or something or no number at all, you can block these numbers i think its 14259 you dial after the call, and if you have a decent phone that has block call without number and international calls, most of the scam calls are made via voip...google it.
i get one or two a week, that i block, they just change their number
