Torygraph is reporting that the Scots conservatives are looking to become a separate organisation, albeit following the Tory whip.
Particularly interesting are the claims that there is "clamour among senior Tories in London for Ms Davidson to be given a top position in the UK party" and that as she is ardently pro-Remain, she could use her position to influence the EU negotiations:
//Ms Davidson has repeatedly said that she favours Britain reaching an agreement that allows it to stay in both the single market and customs union. As a result it is expected that she will now seek to bring about a dramatic change in the government’s negotiating position which hitherto has been opposed to both the single market and the customs union.//
Is this plausible? Furthermore, what's the point of separating if they are going to follow the Tory whip anyway?
