Did anyone watch this last night? The final scene was one of the most powerful pieces of drama I have ever seen.

I was holding my breath and willing Father Kerrigan to lose it and beat the other priest to a pulp!

Minty if you watch it all at once you will be very depressed. You need a week to get over each episode.
Its fantastic Tilly and I agree its not one yoy can watch as a box set.
The acting is fantastic, the list of actors is very good and the story line so gritty but at the same time true to life.
I love it, missed it last night but will see it repeated during the week on another channel here
will probably do blocks of 2 episodes at a time...
I just kind of stumbled on it last week, it was on late and I didn't even know what it was, I was so hooked and promised myself it this is a series, I'm not gonna miss it next time, there you go, I missed it. I read up on it in the RTÉ Guide and found it was not an movie - because it felt like one it was that good

Good luck with that, Minty. I won't say, enjoy, because it's not enjoyable to watch. It makes me seethe!

Did you miss the first episode, Ducksie?
I must have, I only seen one, then I decided I'll watch it last night, I was asleep, woke at 3a.m. :( I'm catching up though - somehow
Question Author
That's a shame, Ducksie. The first episode was gripping.....as are they all.

Are you on the mend now, Ducksie?
I am Tilly, thanks for asking :) it's an ongoing problem but I fight it like a divil :)

Islay, I agree. The acting is superb. Then again, I adore Sean Bean but the rest of the cast have been excellent too. Brilliant stuff.
Possibly one of the best things on TV right now ...
I was holding my breath and willing Father Kerrigan to lose it and beat the other priest to a pulp

now there's an alluring sentence. It must have been quite a show.
It's very good but, as a Catholic, fed up with every single TV prog featuring a priest having to include abuse. We deserve it I suppose but every single drama? Today, across the globe, my Church is feeding the hungry, tending to the sick and comforting the dying. No mention of that. Spare the abuse, please, heard it all a thousand times. We're not all devils.
As a Catholic too Scooping I do see your point, but when it is as well portrayed as this with reference to what has gone before I can live with it.

Brilliantly acted and written and that scene had me wanting to strangle Father Matthew too.
