Lovely to see a bit of sunshine, but I am finding this heat a bit much. I dread to think what the temperature was in the conservatory yesterday as it gets the sun ALL day (my poor tomatoes are going crispy).

Anyway, I left my oscillating fan at my old house so am wilting a bit. I keep my curtains closed (particularly at the front of the house where my bedroom is since that gets full sun from midday onwards) and my windows open. Lots of cold showers.

My top tip for staying cool is to steer clear of the news section. Helps with the blood pressure too.

open front door, let in cool air, doesn't work because there is no cool air, think i am going out in the sun as its likely to be better than staying in my hothouse.
no tips i am afraid, because i don't think people cope with this weather any better than the do the cold, wintry stuff.
Central Scotland 19 degrees, hardly a heat wave :-)

Don't drink alcohol, makes you sweat, no matter how tempting it is. I've got wine, cider and lager in the fridge on a beautiful sunny day. It's talking to me, open me open me! ;0)
Sweating is part of the cooling process built in by mother nature , Eleena.
It is doug, but alcohol makes it worse .. sadly x
loose fitting clothes.
oh, and open the freezer every so often :-D
Just go to a supermarket and stand in the chiller aisle.

That made me laugh Douglas.

I'm a little upset at lack of alcohol, I had my eye on a nice cool Pimms with loads of ice. Instead I'm drinking very cold orange juice.

And I keep just opening the freezer and standing in front of it.

Next stop is Amazon for some sort of fan thing.

lol Sqad. It's too hot for THAT!
One of the best things I ever purchased (about 15 years ago) was a proper mobile air-conditioning unit (the one with the compressor/refrigerant)...not only cools the air but removes the humidity. I set it to 21C and it brings the humidity down from over 80% to less than 40%....absolute bliss when it's 30C in the shade outside.
