Been a tough day today. Mr J2 woke with chest pains (stood there arguing with me and telling me not to fuss as I rang 999). Yes, he has had a heart attack and is now recovering in Scarborough Hospital. Can't praise the emergency services enough.

Next door neighbour saw ambulance and promptly offered to walk dog. Another neighbour has been round and volunteered any help required and so many others, as soon as they heard. I am deluged with love and offers of help. I keep crying with the kindness of them all.

P.S. He's doing fine; I'm told the damage is not huge and we'll find out more tomorrow. The reaction has confirmed my life-long belief in people's goodness. I may, or may not be able to answer much - I'm living on the phone!

Merci, Pierre. Just waiting for a phone call from the hospital, he was 'comfortable' last night.
Best wishes that he has a speedy recovery.
Such a worry but am glad he was comfortable last night.
There are a lot of good, decent folk and am glad you have them around you

Thoughts are with you both xx
Some are wonderful, others .......

Good to hear he's doing fine.

Thanks O.G. The hospital has just rung and they're keeping him in another day at least. I don't know why, I'll only find out when I go in and talk to them. I'd better go and get necessities organised - clean underpants etc., so 'bye for now.
Jourdain, unless things have changed, heart attack victims(or suspected) are kept in for three days for observation.

Thanks danny. :)
You need support at a time like this so accept any support you are offered.

Sometimes something like this can be just as traumatic, if not more so, for the loved ones as the patient.

Indeed working in Oncology I often find relatives impossible to deal with and yet, conversely, the patients can appear awash with calm.

I hope your husband makes a full and speedy recovery.

Finally, give yourself a huge pat on the back for going with your instinct - you undoubtedly gave him more of a fighting chance.
Best wishes to Mr J2 and a speedy recovery, thinking of you too Jourdain.

Dave.

Thank you both. It turned out that speed was of the essence as a blood clot had blocked a passage then moved - so blood-thinning drugs a.s.a.p. were essential. Phew! Hope to bring him home tomorrow. :) He doesn't look brilliant, but a darned sight better than yesterday!
