Samsung S6 Edge just over a year old. Yesterday lunchtime the home button stopped working correctly. The scanner is working so I can turn the phone on but cannot do a screenshot as Home/Power button just turns the phone off and if I press Home to go 'Home' nothing happens. Meaning I have to close all apps currently open in order to do anything else with the phone. At the same time I noticed that on the Home screen my location is set to Marlow ( I am in Oxford' and I cannot change this either despite refresh. Not sure if these two are coincidencental or linked.
I have not recently downloaded any new apps or updates
I have gone into safe mode and cleared the cache and also done a reboot. Any other suggestions would be appreciated - or is a factory reset my only option?
Settings > Accessibility > Dexterity and interaction > Assistant menu From here, toggle the switch to "ON". This will create a hovering circle with a window with four panes inside it. If you interactive with the hovering circle it will open a new window in which you have access to the back and recent apps buttons via an onscreen button. Not sure what has...
No experience with the Edge but is there not a reset to factory option somewhere in the settings ?
Is it still under warranty ? May be worth taking it to a workshop and letting them look at it. I find that the Geek Squad at Carphone Warehouse can be helpful, although beware of a solution similar to "these are old now, can't fix that, you can get a great deal buying a new model from us".

Not sure what has disabled the hardware buttons, but this should give you access via onscreen software.
Fender62, Thank you so much, This is perfect, I'm so happy that I can continue to use the phone and not do a factory reset. Very very happy with a great response and so speedy too.
