I'm a little confused with an answer in today's magazine.
1D Woollen material one's about to take into mountains (7)
I have ?L?A?A? and assume the answer must be ALPACAS, i.e. A (one) CA (about) into ALPS (mountains). But surely the plural of this answer does not equate to woollen material singular?
Any thoughts?
Yes, it appears to be lacking in accuracy, but the compiler of this puzzle is well respected in his compilation which is why I'm a little puzzled, and thought perhaps I was missing something!
Good morning, S. Glad to see you're still on the ball.
I think Tim can only have been thinking of different varieties or grades of alpaca (alpacas) - all being woolen material. A bit wobbly, though!
