Misanthropy
12 Answers
Is there anyone here who would describe themselves as a misanthrope?
As time goes on (I'm now 51) I find myself becoming more reclusive and happier to be alone...apart from a few close friends and associates.
I'm convinced that most of mankind is warped, petty, selfish etc. I cant stand to be around most of my family with their petty squabbles, I cant stand to be around most of my local society with its ridiculous ideas and opinions. Even here on AB some people are so opinionated as to make me puke. I'm not even excusing myself here as I see these 'qualities' within myself.
Maybe its just me....Maybe not!

Nothing wrong with your own company my mate, especially if it is more palatable than being forced to endure the malcontent and malicious. Be careful not to be reclusive though, plenty of people to engage with if only for a few hours when you are out and about. Avoid at all cost the Pollyannas and the snowflakes in equal measure.
