Ww2 Raf In India

My dad was with the RAF in India during WW2, as so often happens as a youngster I have forgotten,or perhaps never knew,exactly where. I think it was in the North, as I do remember he had a rough trip down from the hills to have his appendix out. Do any of you out there have any idea where he could have been? I would be very appreciative of any suggestions.
