Air Show

Does anyone know if there is an air show anywhere near Gloucestershire,
There are lots of planes flying around here. Some of them sound very loud,
I can't see them due to trees and clouds.

If Fairford is anything like Farnborough they will be having a practice week.

last air show I went to was near St. Andrews a few decades ago.
I appreciated it more than the Prestwick Air Show I was dragged to as a nipper.

There was an absolute cracker when a B2 bomber was meant to do a fly past at Farnborough.

We saw it approach and then go out of sight, it performed its fly past over nearby Blackbush Airport, which would have been near deserted.

I'd love to know how much of a rollicking, and what his mess bill was like that night!

It's the roar of the engines (well, some of them at least) which send tingles down my spine.

Eccles, I'd imagine both rollicking and mess bill would be on the large side lol

Living in Gloucestershire, I've heard them too Caran. First on I heard was a mighty huge roar going on for ages but couldn't see anything in sky!..

Last and only air show I went to , was at RAF Culdrose , some years ago now , soon after me and her indoors , were hitched .

Took us ages to find our car and to get off the base , when it was finished

At the Prestwick one, Dad had the bright idea of tying his clean hanky to the car aerial.
Show finished and came out to see loads of other folks had had done the same!!

East Fortune one here soon..hate them..loud smelly and there is ALWAYS a crash at one or t'other !

Not sure yet if we will be going to RAF Fairford.Best one we have been to was Weston super mare. You park on the beach and the planes come at you from over the sea.
It was a real spectacle. It's usually on around now.

If you don't mind me asking, how is Mr Caran doing? Keeping well I hope?

Thanks for asking Alba. He is struggling a bit at the moment. Lots of hospital and doctors appointments. He is having problems with his breathing, slightest exertion and out of breath. Sleeping a lot during the day and evening and this morning tells me he has lost 6lbs in weight. In spite of eating cakes, biscuits and crisps.
He had a chest X-ray last week. Doctor phoned today to say it looks like he has an infection so has to have antibiotics. He's having a blood test tomorrow.
Doc says organise another X-ray in 4-6 weeks then see him after.

hope he'll improve Caran, infections are nasty brutes.
With any luck, treatment for chest infection will hopefully help xx
