Can anyone share any tips? We've booked a last minute holiday to Monbahus and have decided to go via ferry. We are unsure on which would be the best ferry crossing route to take. Any suggestions?

For example if you live close to Portsmouth, there is a ferry service to St Malo or Caen which will leave you to drive circa 650km or 725km respectively. From Calais its 900+km. Suggest you list essential/preferred criteria then compare what's available and then choose the one that fits all/most.
