Yes, JD - first time by mistake, I admit. The meat is actually 'cooked' by the acids used. Not my 1st choice but edible. Escargots were undertaken with trepidation, but proved OK (if chewy). I drew the line at frogs' legs because I had read about how they were sourced.
Biggest mistake (very earl.y on) was mistaking 'cervelles' for 'crevettes'. You don't make that mistake twice, believe me! I'll never forget those 2 tiny brains presented to me glistening in a jus. I'd ordered it, so I had to eat some of them. :)
