...for the first time I think....The Big Build.....well the last bit of it....

What lovely folk.....and that mum with the two super sons......the older boy so caring of his little brother who was so overwhelmed at what had been done to help him.....

Nice sometimes to temper things that have niggled you with something like this.....happy making to see such kind and caring folk..... :-)

Makes me cry...

They actually built a street in one programme for ex servicemen.

A wonderful programme. It just goes to show there are some lovely people willing and able to help others.

It was amazing. I was sobbing.

It wasn't just the street. They built a community centre and facilities where they could deal with things like PTS...

I usually get emotional when I watch it too.

I'm very teary anyway. All it takes for me to well up is to see someone else well up.

It's usually happy things I cry about. This programme is both happy and sad.

I never watched that until recently, I'm on Saorview (freeview over in UK)well, we're only getting the street for ex servicemen this week, I'm really enjoying it and think it's great how everyone mucks in to help, it is a great good feeling program to watch, I like it

It makes you realise.

You see someone in a wheelchair out and about and you'd never think that they might not even be able to get round their own house.

I know,just think, some folk only live in one half of the house because they can't access it, such a shame, not to mention the horrors of trying to get into the loo or even a bath if there is one there because of no hoist or any of the living aids they need to make life more accessible to them

My cousin is disabled. She used to manage with walking sticks but as she got older she gradually relied on her wheelchair.

They had to sell up and move as the house became more and more unsuitable. Luckily they could afford it...not the case for so many others.

It's so easy to think move house...forgetting the costs involved with moving, leaving friends etc...
